Our leader

Tina Mehta

The violin has been part of Tina's life since she started playing at six. Having studied with Judith Young, she began her orchestral life with the Southampton Youth Orchestra and Musical Score. As a student, she played with the University of Bristol Orchestra, and led the University of Bristol Chamber Orchestra.

Since then, Tina has been an integral part of local Bristol string quartet, Four Beats in a Bar. After playing with Brunel Sinfonia for several years she become our leader in 2009 and is also a trustee of the orchestra. Tina led the Bristol Classical Players from their launch in 2008.

Tina works as a gastroenterology consultant in the South West and in her free time enjoys cooking, eating out, socialising and horse riding.
