Our hugely popular Christmas bash is back this year and even bigger and better than before.
For lots of us, Christmas is about tradition; putting up the same beloved but battered decorations on the tree, opening the final doors of your advent calendar on the 24 December, the first of many mince pies.
But the festive season also involves a lot of hard work, rushing around, buying presents, food, doing all the jobs to make everything go smoothly.
Music is a magical part of the tradition and a real tonic to all that racing around which, let’s admit, can get too much. It triggers that cosy sense of nostalgia and brings people together. Which is why we’re putting on another programme of Christmas tunes that will have you singing along, the kids dancing in the aisles and everyone enjoying family time away from the hustle and bustle. So, switch off your phones, leave the laptops behind, spend time away from the shops. Smile, sing and enjoy the present, as well as the presents.
Our programme includes traditional carols, fabulous film music, from the Snowman to Love Actually and the amazing Close Encounters from Redmaids School, a highly talented acapella group who stunned us last year and promise the same beautiful vocal acrobatics in their part of the performance.
We’d love to see you on Sunday 10 December at 6pm, Henleaze United Reform Church, doors open from 5.15pm. Mulled wine, soft drinks and Christmas nibbles served.
Tickets on the door. Adults £10, children (under 16) £5. Family ticket £20 (2 adults and up to 4 children). Programmes free.
