Help Choose the Programme!

The Brunel Sinfonia runs a system whereby the current orchestra chooses one piece for each of its concerts in its forthcoming season.

How does this work?  Just email the details of any piece you would like (name and composer) to drtinamehta@hotmail.com.  This piece is then added to a list from which Tom will shortlist four pieces per concert. The orchestra then votes on which of the four they would like to play.

The choices for the 2009/10 season are (voting date: 11th March):

November 2009: Bruckner Symphony No. 4 in E flat, 'Romantic'; Mahler Symphony No. 5 in C# minor; Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade; Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 in B minor, 'Pathetique'

March 2010: Bartok Concerto for Orchestra; Hindemith Mathis der Maler Symphony; Stravinsky The Firebird; Stravinsky The Rite of Spring

June 2010: Prokofiev Symphony No. 5 in B flat; Shostakovich Symphony No. 6 in B minor; Shostakovich Symphony No, 8 in C minor; Shostakovich Symphony No. 10 in E minor

Suggestions are of course welcome at any time.
