Brunel Sinfonia buys a Bass Clarinet

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

The Brunel Sinfonia purchased its first "fixed asset" last week - a bass clarinet. With hire fees ever increasing, the trustees felt that it was time that the orchestra invested in its own instrument. The terms of the purchase are such that the bass clarinet will be on approval for the first six months, with the seller covering insurance and repair costs. We will be contacting various other orchestras in the area and looking to hire out our new pride and joy!

Concert Report!

Brunel 200 Celebrated in Style

Saturday, September 16th, 2006

Playing over the noise of five lanes of traffic, the Brunel Sinfonia played its part in the closing celebrations of the Brunel 200 Year in fine style. An orchestra of nearly 50 put on a brave show under leaden skies, drawing appreciative crowds and even raising old Isambard himself. By mutual consent the day was great fun, though all subtlety was done away with so that we could be heard!
